Privacy policy

Doodle Drop is a small chat app where your crew talks in doodles instead of text. You can use it fully anonymously — no name, email, or phone number required. We collect the least we can to make rooms work, we never show you ads, we don’t track you across apps or websites, and we don’t sell your data to anyone. The only usage data we look at is anonymous and aggregated — counts, never profiles. This page explains exactly what we collect and why.

Your account. New accounts start out anonymous — you get a random guest identity with no personal information attached. If you choose to “save your account” from Settings, we collect a phone number to send you a one-time SMS verification code. That number is used only to sign you back in on other devices — we don’t use it to call or text you for any other reason, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Your display name and pen color. The name and color you pick (or that were randomly assigned) are shown to the people in your rooms so they know who drew what.

Your doodles. The drawings you create are stored so the other members of a room can see them — that’s the whole point of the app. Doodle images are stored as files with random, unguessable ids; nothing about the storage layout makes them browsable or searchable by anyone who doesn’t already have the link a room member would see.

Push notification tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can let you know when a new doodle drops or someone reacts to yours.

Anonymous usage stats. We count how the app is used, in aggregate, so we know what to fix and what to build next. On the website that’s page views, measured by Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, so there’s nothing to accept or clear. In the iOS app it’s simple signals like “a doodle was dropped” or “a room was created,” measured by TelemetryDeck, which anonymizes everything before it reaches us. Neither one sees your doodles, your name, or your phone number; none of it is linked to your identity, uses cookies or advertising identifiers, or follows you to other apps or sites. We only ever see totals — like “doodles dropped this week” — never what any one person did.

• No ads, and no ad networks or ad SDKs anywhere in the app.
• No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
• No cookies and no advertising identifiers. The usage stats described above are anonymous and aggregated — never behavioral profiles of you.
• We never sell your data to anyone, for any reason.

Doodle Drop is built on Supabase, which hosts our database, file storage, and authentication. Supabase acts as our infrastructure provider — it stores data on our behalf and doesn’t use it for its own purposes.

If you block someone, that choice is stored so their doodles stay hidden from you across rooms you share. If you report a doodle or a person, the report — along with enough context to review it (like the content reported and who reported it) — is sent to us so the developer can look into it and take action, which may include removing content or suspending an account.

You’re always in control. From Settings → delete account in the app, you can permanently erase your account, including your saved phone number (if any) and the doodles you’ve created. This can’t be undone.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date above. Continuing to use Doodle Drop after a change means you’re okay with the update.
